In that town you will also find the adorable dresses that the cute cocktail waitresses wear. It is located in the middle on nowhere, once you walk outside there is nothing there. Most of the TV channels were in Spanish, with some English channels. We had booked an ocean view room , but because we were on the second floor, our view was obstructed by the trees. Entertainment very well organised thoughout the whole day and night, got to meet Roselita, she puts on quite the show. There are lots of fruit, including pineapple, papaya, and watermelon. The service was excellent. Service was excelent, rooms clean. I think because we had trees near the room, we had several insects in the room. We booked on the all day Buena Vista adventure with the hotel and had a super time, zip lines, water slide, horse back riding, and hot springs. The hotel itself doesn't seem very integrated, you have to walk outside of the lobby, out of the hotel, to walk along a street to the gift shops, photography studio, casino, and gym. There didn't seem to be real juice, juice some kind of watered down fruit juice. As we typically like to go out, explore and try local food, we did feel that we were stuck there, just eating constantly and were quite bored, but it was fine since we were there for only 4 days, wanted to stay put in one location, and we had gotten a great rate for the stay. Food- at the buffets, they try to have a variety everyday. When departing sugested that you bring your own drinks and food to the airport. The beach is black sand so it can get quite hot to walk on, bring beach shoes to get to the water and spray for your legs. Mega combo wa absolulely wonderfull with breathtaking views along the way there and back. They open at 6pm and close at 2am. The food, excelent, always well stocked, lots of variety very well presented. Overall a great trip and cannot wait to return. We had none. We stayed at the Riu over Christmas and had a fabulous time there. Pablo you are the man. The reservation system for the restaurants was atrocious. There are vendors outside of the hotel at the beach who greet you and ask if you're interested in tours, but once you say no, they leave you completely alone and let you be on your way. The beach is a public area, but it's relatively quiet. The hotel was very nice and maintained very well. The gym is not 24 hours, VERY small, with treadmills and some weight machines. Our room looked out over the plaza, gardens, and ocean. The bars were always very well stocked with great service from all the bartenders, enjoyed lounging in the pool with a Blue hawaiian or a miami vice, nice cold drinks fro those who liek to partake in a few cold ones. We took one tour with him and returned 2 days later and took a second tour with him as he was such a fabulous tour guide. The food there was a little better than the general buffets. Entertainment staff always willign to help you out with anythign needed, just ask for JJ and he will do anything for you. My husband and I stayed at this property Jan nd. It's also the only place to find an ATM, unless you wait and go to the next town. We tried the Italian restaurant, which was partial buffet and order dinner. It's basically the same show each night, with different music. The hotel is fairly isolated, so a quick trip for adventure or entertainment is not likely. The grounds are very well kept. To book the restaurants, you have to go early in the morning to book, or you're out of luck. Tours are out of this world if you dont mind a little bit of a drive. We did not try any of the tours, so we can't rate any of them. Beef tenderloin at the steakhouse had to be the best of all, cooked to perfection. The hotel has nightly entertainment shows, but once you've sat through one 4 hour show, it's enough!

Stayed at the hotel for a week. Every day, we saw people working on the lawn, trimming the plants, painting, and cleaning. Knowing that wasn't enough time to explore the country, click here decided just to stay put at an all inclusive resort.

Danny or Diego are the ones to see for tours, just go to the beach where it is cheaper and very reliable, tell them you heard of them from the crazy canadians, Barb,Mike, Jan, Howie, Andy, Riu guanacaste casino and Deb.

However, the riu guanacaste casino are breathtaking. Had no problem getting a room change after the first night in resort to the mountainview side, well worth the change.

Beach front very nice and clean, turtles hatch early in the am and go off into the ocean, pretty amazing seing it and holding newborn turtles. Finally, it is rather isolated from everything which is usually ok Most Excursions require hours in a bus or van.

A few people got bites on their legs from no-see-um. You can go through security with it, if not when you get there it was 6 US dollars for a bottle of pop and Meals on plane where hot ad good as well, only we did not get a whole riu guanacaste casino to drink as they had a shortage of beverages on the plane.

We decided to book the Hotel Riu in Guanacaste, as we got a great rate per night. The staff was hit and miss, as to the way they acted towards guests.

There is no internet in the rooms, only the lobby riu guanacaste casino wifi, however at times it was difficult to access it. We didn't get to go to the Steakhouse, so can not rate that.

We went to the front desk to ask to change rooms due to the insects, and they moved us to a better room with a much better ocean view The rooms had a mini bar and fridge with drinks. I felt there were a lack of vegetables, just only salads.

The buffets mostly had chicken, pork, fish, and seafood, rarely any beef. Trust me, I've been three times to this resort over the past year. Get a garden view room unless visit web page like listening to the show until midnight every night.

There were a couple nights that were very good. When you see danny or Diego ask for Pablo, he is the man to take you on a tour. Riu is building a new Riu Palace right next door and will be ready next year. The sand is pretty dark. It is a 45 minute drive from airport, not to bad.

The specialty restaurants were buffet style as well, so they suffered the same blandness and lack of originality. There are photographers all over the place who take photos of you in the pool. Plan what day you plan to eat at the specialty restaurants early as if you do anything during the day you will have to eat at the buffet at night. The pools were nice, with a swim-up bar. In all a good vacation. We booked a quick getaway in December to Costa Rica for four days. They also have nighly drawings for extra cash. The drinks are free flowing, but the alcohol is not anything you've ever heard of If you are looking for nightly entertainment and excellent drinks with alcohol you recognize, just take a short walk next door to the Las Olas Casnio. One trip we took to the Arenal Volcano though a very good trip was a 14 hour day with hours of driving. No problems with our room or beds. Overall, we had a good time at the Riu, and this was actually our first real all inclusive experience. Because the resort is set back from the water, the pool view was obstructed by all the lovely trees and gardens. It was seriously like a Chinese buffet gone bad, the food was not good and greasy. We have just arrived back from RIU Guanacasta early this morning, very unfortunate taht we ahd to come home but allgood things have to come to an end. The show is nice, just not for each night. The food was somewhat bland and lacked originality most nights. On the third day my husband had to kill a 3 inch flying insect. You need to use a towel card to get a towel, which I thought was a bit odd since it's AI. However, that is what you would expect at a buffet. Seing the crocs was quite an experience as well. Our second trip was a safari boat tour and very well worth going on, feeding the monkeys is a very special and memorable thing to do, they are very tame and loveable. The shows they put on, the food, the staff, the hotel, was one of the best we have been to. The food was also what I expected, not the five star choices we are accustomed to in the states, but well done and tasty. I found the place rather clean, what I expected. When we first got to the resort our room was onthe construction side, not a very quiet place fist thingin the morning as they start to work at 6 am everyday. Asian a la carte very god as well. During breakfast, they did make some fruit shakes. Watch, and enjoy, once or twice.
